Have you recently got engaged? If you have, have you started planning your wedding yet? I mean most brides-to-be probably planned a wedding in their head many years ago, but now it’s time to look at the finer details – it just got real! If you have already started planning your wedding, have you made all of your beauty preparations yet? Your hair and makeup are an important part of planning a wedding (if not the most important part) as you want to look your best. For that reason, you will want to start making your beauty arrangements sooner rather than later.
When it comes to planning beauty preparations for your wedding, there are a number of different steps that you will need to take. First of all, you will want to decide how you would like your hair and makeup done. If you are also interested in having your bridesmaids’ hair to be all the same, you may want to think about planning out their hair styles as well. If you find yourself having a difficult time making a decision or coming up with ideas, you may want to think about hiring the services of a beauty consultant or making “trial run” appointments at your local beauty or hair salon, or they may come to your home.
If you need to make appointments for you and the rest of your wedding party to get your hair done, you will want to make your appointments well in advance. If your wedding is scheduled for “wedding season” you will want to make your appointments as soon as possible, especially if you have your heart set on getting your hair done at a particular salon. Smaller salons can only handle one wedding party at a time. It’s so important to be organised and plan with lots of time to spare to avoid any disappointment.
In addition to getting your hair done for your wedding, you may also want to get your nails done and also have your makeup professionally applied. If you are interested in getting your makeup done, you will likely have your makeup done right after your hair is complete. This may be done by the same artist, or you may need to book separate artists for hair and makeup.
You may want to consider permanent makeup in advance of your wedding. This would mean less preparation time for the wedding but probably more importantly, you’ll wake up beautiful the morning after your wedding, hangover depending. Eyebrows can really change your face, so having these done semi-permanently (if you are lacking eyebrow hair) is always worth it. Microblading is a very natural process of applying thin hair stroke shaped lines on your eyebrows.
As for your nails, you may be required to make an appointment in the days leading up to the wedding. If you or your bridesmaids need nail touch ups, they can be done at the last minute but again it is best to be prepared and have everything booked. Gels or acrylics last much longer, so it may be worth getting them done the week before so at least that is out of the way.
Although you hope everything will go to plan on your wedding day, you will want to prepare for the unexpected. In terms of beauty and fashion, the unexpected may include a tear in your dress or the dress one of your bridesmaids, a stain, or too much sweating. For that reason, you may want to think about having an emergency beauty bag on hand and with you at all times during your wedding, particularly before the ceremony takes place. It is quite common for the maid of honour to be responsible for bringing an emergency kit bag, but you still may want to make sure that it is covered.
As for the items that should go inside this emergency beauty bag, you may want to stock it full of anything that you think you or your bridesmaids may need. Items that you will definitely want to include in an emergency beauty bag include makeup, deodorant, wet wipes, tissues, hand lotion, hairspray or hair gel, a brush, a comb, extra bobby pins, a small sewing kit, and emergency stain removing chemicals. Having these types of items inside an emergency beauty bag will reduce the number of unexpected events that may end up hampering your wedding day. Nobody needs drama and stress on their wedding day!
The above beauty preparation tips are just a few of the many things you need to think about. These are only part of the overall plans as you are well aware. For instance, you will need to choose a venue for your wedding reception, a band or a DJ, a wedding cake, a dress and so forth. With all of the preparations and arrangements that need to be made, you may want to think about hiring the services of a professional wedding planner or at least buying a wedding planning guide, which will hopefully include a detailed checklist for you.
