How to Collect Wedding Photos from Your Guests with a QR Code

By TRAUKLAR

While you’re having your portraits taken, your cousins might be seeing each other for the first time in years. A photo from their table can show you a part of the wedding you missed. Give guests a QR code that opens a shared upload page so those photos are easy to send.

Set Up One Upload Link

Choose a photo collection tool that lets you download the original files. Check how long the upload link stays open and how many photos you can collect. With TRAUKLAR, guests can upload straight from a phone browser without creating an account. You can review their submissions before choosing which photos appear in the guest gallery.

Test a Printed Card

Print one card at its final size and ask someone to scan it on their phone using mobile data. Have them send a test photo and check that it reaches your collection. Keep the code dark on a light background with a clear margin around it, especially if the reception room will be dimly lit.

Put the Cards on the Reception Tables

A card at each table gives guests a chance to scan while they’re seated. Use a short instruction they can read at a glance. “Scan to share your wedding photos with us” is enough. If you’re asking guests to put their phones away during the ceremony, display the cards when the reception begins.

Ask whoever is making announcements to point out the cards once guests have had time to take a few pictures. Invite people to send their two or three favourites. A photo of the whole table is an easy place to start.

Share the Link Again After the Wedding

Include the same upload link in your thank-you message so guests can send photos from home. This also helps if the venue had a weak mobile signal. Give guests a date to upload by, then save the originals of your favourites for printing. If you plan to post a photo publicly, ask the people pictured whether they’re comfortable with that.
